Our E-Governance Projects:
Rural Electrification Board (REB) which is a semi-autonomous government agency under the Ministry of Power Energy and Minerals Resources is responsible for electrifying rural Bangladesh. Since its inception, the purpose of the program has been to use electricity as a means of creating opportunities for improving agricultural production and enhancing socio-economic development in rural areas. Today there are 70 operating rural electric cooperatives called Palli Bidyuit Samity (PBS) inside and outside of Dhaka. REB has to maintain and monitor all types of financial, accounting and auditing activities of the PBS’s from REB head office.

For automation REB board has undertaken the task for developing customized software for Accounts, Finance, PBS Loans & Audit and Internal Audit Directorates of Rural Electrification Board. SCS has created the Roadmap on overall system plan for Finance, Accounts, Loans & Audit Directorates of REB.

The roadmap which SCS created for PKSF is a step-by-step guide on how to achieve the above-mentioned objectives and should be taken like a project by itself with defined tasks, actors, timelines, and the identification of dependencies, risks and issues. Furthermore, it must be appreciated that while the roadmap is implemented over a period of time, decision makers or users may get tempted to introduce dazzling gadgets in PKSF’s work and process flows but rigorous cost-benefit analysis should be carried out and a mandatory post-implementation review made in every such case to protect against possible waste.
We prepared the reports as the basis for major improvements in PKSF’s information technology systems, which will impact on all areas of the PKSF. The final report incorporates all reports, which are first report on Existing Business Procedures of PKSF, second report on Business Process Re Engineering, third report on The IT Road Map and the last report on Cost Benefit Analysis in brief.
